Move a Publisher file into Canva

Canva cannot open .pub files, but it can import PowerPoint, Word, PDF and LibreOffice Draw files. Convert the .pub file to PowerPoint here, then upload the .pptx to Canva to get editable text on the same layout.

How to move a Publisher file into Canva

  1. Convert the .pub file. Upload the .pub file on the home page and download the PowerPoint (.pptx) file.
  2. Open Canva. In Canva, choose Upload or Import file.
  3. Pick the .pptx file. Canva turns each slide into a page. Text boxes stay editable.
  4. Fix fonts. If Canva does not have a font, pick a close one from Canva's list.

Which file to import

Use the PowerPoint (.pptx) file. Each Publisher page becomes one Canva page with editable text boxes. A PDF also imports, but Canva has to guess where the text is.
