How to convert a Publisher file to PDF

If you still have Publisher

Open the file, choose File, then Save As, and pick PDF. Microsoft says Publisher in Microsoft 365 works until October 1, 2026. Perpetual versions such as Publisher 2021 keep running after support ends on October 13, 2026.

If you do not have Publisher

Use this site, or install LibreOffice (free) and open the .pub file in LibreOffice Draw, then export as PDF. Both use the same open source reader for Publisher files, called libmspub.

One difference: when a story flows across linked text boxes, LibreOffice repeats the whole story in every box, so columns overlap. This site splits the story across the boxes again.
